Christina StahlbockDirector DAAD IC in East Jerusalem

Christina Stahlbock studied History, Politics and Islamic Sciences in Kiel and Cairo and received her Master’s degree in 2010 from Kiel University. From 2010 to 2014, Christina worked in the DAAD Cairo Office as a Project Coordinator gaining experience in fostering international university cooperation, creating further trainings for academics, marketing, and scholarship procedures. Upon her return to Germany, she joined the DAAD governmental liaison office in Berlin working with ministries and the German parliament. Since September 2016, Christina has held her current position as the Director of the DAAD Information Centre in East Jerusalem.

Eveline MuharebDAAD Programme Officer DAAD IC in East Jerusalem

Eveline Muhareb gives advice on studying in Germany and provides information on DAAD scholarship programmes. She is also responsible for the office administration.

DAAD at Birzeit University

DAAD Longterm Lecturer

Dr. Anja Zorob is assistant professor at the Muwatin Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, Birzeit University. She teaches in the Master Programme Democracy and Human Rights and the interdisciplinary PhD Programme of Social Sciences. She studied in Freiburg, Damascus and Bochum and received her PhD in Contemporary Research on the Middle East from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. She has been working in different positions at, among others, the Center for Middle Eastern & North African Studies at Freie Universität Berlin and the Institute of Development Research and Development Policy (IEE) where she initiated the German-Arab PhD Programme Conflict, Reconstruction and Sustainable Development in the Middle East. In the years 2016-2018 she headed the project University without Borders at RUB. Her main research interests cover Arab/MENA countries’ regional integration, political economy and development in addition to conflict and reconstruction in the Middle East as well as European foreign policy (Euro-Mediterranean, Neighbourhood) with a focus on trade, cooperation, flight and migration.

DAAD Lecturer

Ruth Pappenhagen studied German Language and Literature and Philosophy and received her Master’s degree in 2009 from the University of Hamburg. From 2013 to 2014 Ruth worked as a DAAD-language assistant at Univerzita J.E.Purkyně, Ústí nad Labem (Czech Republic). From 2009-2013 and 2015-2017 she was a research assistant at the University of Hamburg, working in the field of multilingualism which is still her research interest. Since 2018 she works as a DAAD Lecturer at Birzeit University.

DAAD Language Assistant

Tabea Malessa studied French and Philosophy in Gießen and Montpellier as well as German as a Foreign Language in Marburg. From September to December 2017 she worked as an intern in both language departments of the French-German Cultural Center Ramallah. While being in Ramallah  the BA German Language Programme at Birzeit University caught her attention. Since September 2018 Tabea is the DAAD Language Assistant at Birzeit University and teaches German language courses and gives advice on scholarships.

DAAD at Al-Quds University

DAAD Language Assistant

Anna-Lena Hildebrandt teaches German languages courses at the Al-Quds University since September 2018. Besides teaching German she gives advice on studying in Germany and organizes a "Sprachcafé" - a German Language Club open for everyone who wants to practice their German skills. She studied General Linguistics, German as a Foreign Languages and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Göttingen. Before joining the DAAD Team she taught German classes in South Africa and Morocco.
